Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition
John Bos assist Norfolk State University with their Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition. John was asked to be a remote site judge responsible for visually observing the teams activities and reporting any violations of the rules. The mission of the Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition (CCDC) system is to provide institutions with an information assurance or computer security curriculum, a controlled, competitive environment to assess their student’s depth of understanding and operational competency in managing the challenges inherent in protecting a corporate network infrastructure and business information systems.
With the advent of viable remote access technologies and virtualization, teams had the ability to participate in CCDC events from their respective institutions. We must be able to confirm that teams comply with all rules that pertain to the competition. Therefore the best way to do that is for each team to designate a non-biased individual as the remote site judge.
